Tree Plantation/ Afforestation
Tree plantation means planting trees in a planned way. Trees are an important element of our environment. They give us oxygen and take carbon dioxide to keep the ecological balance on earth. The effect of the loss of trees is very dangerous. It creates drought and famine. To save mankind, forests should be preserved. Trees prevent natural calamities like floods, soil erosion etc. They give us food, fruits, shelter, medicine, timber, fuel and so on. They also provide shelter to birds and animals. As trees are our best friends, we should plant more and more trees. June and July are the best time for planting trees. We can plant trees on roadsides, rail lines, schools, colleges, universities and offices. The government has already taken some steps to plant trees more and more. Mass awareness about the importance of planting and preserving trees has to be developed to keep the earth greener, cleaner and safer for the future. Different mass media like radio, television, newspapers can play an important role in this regard. We should bear in mind that the more we plant trees, the more we do well for us.
Load Shedding
Load shedding means the discontinuation of electricity supply on certain lines. Nowadays it is a regular affair in our country. It happens when the power generation is less than the demand. Less production of electricity, misuse of electricity and illegal connections are greatly responsible for load shedding. Load shedding causes great suffering to the people. It badly affects the economic and social development of a country. It hampers our production. Mills, factories, industries, shops, hospitals etc. cannot run without electricity. Foods kept in the refrigerators get rotten. The housewives suffer greatly sitting in the darkness. The students and the patients are the worst sufferers. Sometimes operations are stopped. So, proper steps should be taken to stop it for the greater interest of the nation. Our government should set up more powerhouses, illegal connections and misuse of electricity should be stopped. Above all public awareness should be raised in this regard.
