Ans. A dialogue between myself (Rima) and my friend (Shapla) about the corruption in Bangladesh:
Myself: Hello Shapla, what are you doing?
Shapla: I am reading a newspaper. Do you read the newspaper daily?
Myself: Of course. But you look so tense. Are you anxious for something?
Shapla: Yes, I’m concerned about corruption prevailing in our country.
Myself: Do you know the TI report on Bangladesh?
Shapla: Yes, I know very well about the report. The report has exposed to the world that Bangladesh is the first in corruption among the countries of the world. Now we are champions in the race of corruption.
Myself: You are making a joke but I am perplexed to hear this. I think you have no patriotism. Would you please tell me your real view regarding the corruption in Bangladesh?
Shapla: Actually I must love my country but what can I do now? Most of the people of our country from the clerk to high officers and the ministers have become corrupt. They can do anything for their own interest. Actually they are morally empty.

Myself: Would you please tell me what you think about the causes of their moral degradation and corruption in our country?
Shapla: In a developing and poor country like Bangladesh, the main cause of corruption is corrupted politics. Corrupt politicians being devoid of real patriotism misuse their power. Bribery and nepotism are also responsible for corruption.
Myself: But I don’t think so. Because the anti-corruption commission has been reformed. And the corrupt persons are being punished and brought to book.
Shapla: But the anti-corruption commission may be biased politically in the near future.
Myself: The matter is very grievous and painful. We should be conscious about this matter. Family training is also necessary for the children. Our government should be sincere in removing corruption.
Shapla: It’s true, effective steps will be taken to make the commission political influence free.
Myself: Then we’ll feel safe and sound.
Shapla: Right you’re. Thank you very much.
Myself: You’re welcome.
