Traffic jam
Traffic jam is a long line of a large number of vehicles on the street. The vehicles cannot move at all or can move very slowly. Traffic jam is a very common affair and at the same time a great problem in our country. It usually occurs near the bus station, at the railway crossing, in front of a school or a big market. It is seen most often at the office time and it is also the same when the office breaks. Over population is the main cause of traffic jam. With the growth of population, the number of vehicle is also increasing. Over taking tendency, violating traffic rules, damage roads, road construction work, dishonest traffic police, lack of public awareness etc. are also responsible for traffic jam. It causes untold sufferings to the people. It kills their valuable time and hampers their work. The patients are the worst victims of traffic jam. We want to get rid of this problem. Proper steps should be taken to solve this problem. The existing narrow roads and streets should be widened and the number of traffic police should be increased, over taking tendency and illegal parking should be stopped. Besides, making new flyover, removing unlicensed vehicles, reducing the number of rickshaw and rising public awareness etc. are also necessary to solve the problem of traffic jam. Above all, it is the duty of everybody to follow the traffic rules to ensure smooth movement of vehicles.
A Village Fair
A village fair is an occasion of the village people to enjoy a public gathering. It is one of the most important events for the villagers. The fair is held on a specific occasion including Pahela Baishakh, Chaittro Sangkranti, Eid, Durga Puja, etc. The village fair is organised by a village committee. The committee organises the fair at an open field. Hundreds of stalls and make-shift shops of various items are installed at the fair. Children wait for a long time for the fair. They count down the days and make a list of buying goods from the fair. Different forms of entertainments including circus show, cock fight, magic show, jatra, puppet show amuse the villagers. Men, women and children of all ages gather and buy many fancy things for their household purposes. They also arrange for a family get-together and invite their relatives centering the event. The fair brings much pleasure to the villagers and gives them relaxed. However, some evil practices including gambling in the fair must be discouraged.
A Railway Station
A railway station is a place where trains stop for the passengers to get into and get off from the train. It is a busy place. It becomes very busy because of the arrival of trains. Here the passengers are found to stand in a queue to collect their tickets in front of the ticket counter. A big station is always crowded with passengers, hawkers, and posters. There are bookstalls, book-sellers and waiting rooms in such a stations. Vendors shout to sell their products. When a train reaches at the station, the passengers hurry to get off from the train. At the same time passengers waiting for the train want to get on the train. As a result, a collision of two groups of passengers takes place. The whistling sound of the departing train creates a situation of vacuum in the minds of the passengers. When the train leaves the station, it becomes deserted. A railway station is often a den for the anti-social elements. It is a suitable place for the beggars to carry on their trade. It is an unhygienic place too. The authority should look into it.
