A birthday party celebrated at my home
25th March is the date when I was born. I celebrate my birthday every year with my family members and friends. On the last 25th March, my birthday party was arranged at our residence. Then I was 17 years old. Some of my friends and relatives were invited to the party. My father bought me a nice dress while my mother made a huge birthday cake.
At about 4 p.m. different dishes of delicious foods were placed on the dining-table. The drawing room was neatly decorated with colorful papers and balloons. I put on the new dress. All my friends attended the party. They stood around the table. The candles were lit and I blew them off one after another. I smiled merrily and cut the birthday cake amidst joy and happiness. My friends and younger brothers and sisters began to sing, “Happy birthday to you.” Then they ate the foods prepared. Cameras brought by my relatives and friends went on clicking. Plates full of delicious foods were then handed round. Everybody fell to with a good deal of zest. The eating was accompanied by a lot of talking and giggling. My friends and relatives greeted me by presenting gifts and bouquets. I thanked friends and relatives for attending the party. I still feel a kind of thrill at the very thought of my last birthday party.
Dangers of Smoking
It is generally considered that smoking is a dangerous habit. But more than 80% people of our country are in the habit of smoking. Our young generation is getting addicted to smoking without knowing the damages it caused. It causes many fatal diseases like cancer, chronic bronchitis, heart attack and some other respiratory diseases. One puff of cigarette smoke contains fifteen billion particles of injurious matter, nicotine is one of them. It prevents the free flow of blood through of the veins. This reduces the supply of oxygen in the body. It damages our lungs. It also harms the nerves, damages the brain and sometimes spoils the character. People addicted to smoking also pollute the environment and the air. Besides, it causes irritation in the eye, offends the nose and unsettles the mind. Smoking is so dangerous that the stench of cigarette is repulsive to a non-smoker. Moreover, it wastes a lot of money. So all of us, irrespective of caste and creed age and religion should launch a massive campaign against smoking. The government should impose high taxation related to the factory of cigarette and its producer. They should be socially avoided either in the case of employment, merriment or even in the marriage. The people should be aware of their religious ethics and social values through campaign so that they cannot encourage themselves to smoking.
Acid Throwing
Acid throwing is one of the most heinous crimes. In our country nowadays we read about the incidents of acid throwing in the dailies. In most cases it is seen that women and children are the worst victims of acid throwing. The incident of acid throwing takes place due to mainly two reasons. One is family another one is rejection of love. If two families fall into enmity on different issues, often one of them takes the path of savage vengeance and throws acid in the women and children of opponent side. Again, if any youth is rejected in his love by the girl he loves, he also may throw acid on the girl. The acid victims suffer from an unbearable pain as the skin of the acid thrown part of the body gets burnt. Government must take serious action against the acid throwers. The criminal should be tried in summary trial and must be awarded with death sentence. Government, non-government and organizations should come forward to launch campaign against, this crime.
