I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.
I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today.
I have a dream that one day down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of ‘interposition’ and ‘nullification’, that one day right down in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.
B. Answer the following questions.
(a) How does the speaker see the future picture of Georgia? What does he visualize in his dream?
Ans: The speaker sees the future picture of Georgia with an optimistic view. In his dream, he visualizes that in future the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

(b) What type of state is Mississippi? What does he dream of this state?
Ans: According to his view, Mississippi is a state which is characterized with sweltering heat of injustice and that of oppression. Anyway, he dreams of this state that one day this desert like state will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
(c) What does the speaker dream of the future of his four children?
Ans: The speaker dreams of the future of his four children that they will one day live in a nation where they will be judged not by the color of their skin but they will be judged by the content of their characters.
(d) What type of a person does the speaker find the governor of Alabama to be?
Ans: The speaker finds the governor of Alabama to be a person whose lips are dripping with the words ‘interposition’ and ‘nullification’.
(e) What does the speaker dream about the future condition of Alabama?
Ans: The speaker dreams about the future condition of Alabama that one day right down in that state little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.
