Data Transmission Mode
Question: What is Data Transmission Mode?
Ans: Data transmission mode is the way of transferring data between two devices in a computer network. It defines the direction, synchronization and number of bits of the data flow.
Question: What is Types of Data transmission mode.
Ans: According to the direction of data flow. There are three main types of data transmission modes.
1. Simplex,
2. Half-duplex,
3. Full-duplex
1. Simplex Mode: In this mode, communication is unidirectional, meaning data flows in only one direction.
Example: One-way radio broadcast or a keyboard sending data to a computer.
2. Half-Duplex Mode: This mode allows bidirectional communication, but not simultaneously. Devices can both send and receive data, but not at the same time.
Example: Walkie-talkies, Wi-Fi
3. Full-Duplex Mode: In this mode, data can be transmitted in both directions simultaneously.
Examples: Mobile, Telephone, Wi-Max communication.
